All Of Us Are Dead Season 2’s Nam-ra Story Means Her Season 1 Nickname Will Finally Make Sense (2025)

Summary

  • Nam-ra's role as the class president will become more meaningful in All of Us Are Dead season 2, as she will likely lead and protect the halfbies.
  • Nam-ra's character arc showcases her transformation from a lonely individual to someone who fights for those she cares about.
  • Nam-ra's development is one of the highlights of the series, and she is set to be an important player in season 2.

Choi Nam-ra’s “class prez” nickname was used against her for most of season 1, but her role as the class president will finally make sense in All of Us Are Dead season 2. Although All of Us Are Dead features a lot of characters, four of them can be considered protagonists – Cheong-san, On-jo, Su-hyeok, and Nam-ra. The Netflix Korean drama about zombies didn’t exactly have a happy ending, but the protagonists did go through significant character arcs.

One of the most popular All of Us Are Dead season 2 theories is that the show will now focus on the halfbies, building up from Nam-ra’s return at the end of season 1. Halfbies, or hambies, are people who were infected with the zombie virus but did not fully transform. They retain their consciousness while also gaining super strength, but it comes at the cost of having to control their desire for human brains. Nam-ra, the class president, is one of the halfbies, which will certainly define her journey in season 2.

Nam-ra Will Likely Be The Leader Of The Halfbies In All Of Us Are Dead Season 2

All Of Us Are Dead Season 2’s Nam-ra Story Means Her Season 1 Nickname Will Finally Make Sense (1)

All of Us Are Dead season 1 ends with On-jo, Su-hyeok, and the rest of the survivors escaping from the quarantine zone so that they can check who was the one lighting up a fire on top of what was left from the school. There, they reunited with Nam-ra, who now seemed to have far more control over her zombie transformation compared to her previous appearance. Before the time skips, Nam-ra attacked her friends and almost killed On-jo. Fortunately, not only is Nam-ra now in control, but she is also helping guide other halfbies.

Although All of Us Are Dead season 1’s ending does not show other halfbies, Nam-ra states that others like her need protection in a post-bombing Hyosan. According to Nam-ra, halfbies are now being hunted, which makes sense considering the military plan to contain the outbreak by whatever means necessary. Whereas Nam-ra was once ironically referred to as “class president” or “class prez,” she is now an actual leader to the halfbies and a valuable friend to the rest of the All of Us Are Dead characters. Nam-ra is set to be one of season 2’s most important players.

Nam-ra’s Arc Makes Her Into One Of All Of Us Are Dead’s Best Characters

Nam-ra went through arguably the best character arc in All of Us Are Dead, going from someone with no friends and whose title as class president meant nothing to someone who is always fighting to protect the ones she cares about. She became close to the rest of the class during the outbreak, learning that making connections and establishing bonds can be a good thing. Nam-ra’s relationship with Su-hyeok played a significant role in that arc, but her changes throughout the show go beyond the feelings they had for each other.

From minor characters to fan-favorite names, no one is safe in the upcoming All of Us Are Dead season 2 after the first season lived up to its title.

The fact that Nam-ra had to leave her friends shortly after they became close for the first time is bittersweet. That said, seeing Nam-ra lead or protect a group of halfbies in All of Us Are Dead season 2 sounds very exciting. This would be an interesting way for the show to introduce new characters, especially considering there is a lot still to be learned about the halfbies. Regardless of the direction All of Us Are Dead goes into now, Nam-ra’s character development can continue to be a highlight of the series.
